Precision laser therapy effectively removes unsightly veins or pigment. The technician will apply a clear gel to the skin on which the chilled laser handpiece will glide. The laser beam is adjusted to match the diameter of the vein being treated. Laser pulses are delivered evenly along the length of the vein, and in many cases you will see the vein disappear with each pulse. Several veins can be treated during a single appointment.
The pulse feels warm and you may feel a sting; larger or deeper veins may be more uncomfortable. To help manage comfort and safety, the system is equipped with a chilled sapphire tip which cools the skin before, during, and after each pulse.
Soon after treatment, a red mark, resembling a scratch may appear and persist for a few days. Special care should be taken to limit sun exposure to the treated area for at least a week. Sunscreen may be applied immediately after being treated.
Treatments can take as little as 5 minutes, more for larger areas. Treatments are given in 3 to 6 week intervals.
Below are some before and after images, as well as some videos of leg vein removal before and after the treatment.
